How to get rid of this weird stringy algae?

I only have this weird algae on these 2 frags of zoas and I am wondering how to get rid of them. I have a lawnmower blenny and he hasn't touched it. Any other CUC options that could possibly help out with getting rid of this kind of algae?

This is most likely dinoflagellates (dinos). Actually isn’t algae and is a rough battle. There are many threads here if you search “dinos”. But a microscope ID is best for verification.

Could I get a baby tang in a 25g for a short period? Would they go after algae pretty quickly? I have been reluctant to home one for a short period of time based on what people say. Emerald crabs scare me with my corals lol but might try some more hermits or sea hare!

I don't believe it's dinos, I've had it before and been able to rid of it I had the free floating form with the bubbly snotty type. This is some kind of algae I have seen only pop up on one frag of zoas I had back then and must have made its way to one of these frags I had near it and now in this tank I moved them too, it's like a pretty thick stringy algae that has a fern type shape on it. I have peroxide dipped and gotten rid of it before but then it comes right back

If indeed these are dinos, not a single creature will eat them.

Tangs are very picky about what they eat. There’s no way to tell if a certain one will eat something like this.

I have 5 emerald crabs and sea hare in my 40g there is no GHA lol I actually have to cultivate my macro algae so the sea hare has food

Looks like common green hair algae to me. If it is only on two frags I would just try manual removal with tweezers/knife.

I have the same exact thing in a patch of zoas , the sea hare will work 100% but you may need to rehome after they need a constant source of food

Wouldn't mind just getting one and rehoming! Hopefully it would just tear it right up! Would a wrasse bother it by any chance? Just a small melanarus

Wrasse won’t touch it. Peroxide dip is the quickest way to kill it. Good parameters and time, snails and hermits

I’m not sure , my sea hare is almost the size of my fist so it’s the biggest thing in my tank and sea hare can release deadly toxin so make sure ye wrasse isn’t a bully

I’d just go in and clean it up every other day that worked for me as I’ve had it. I have a cherub angel in my 20g which I always see cleaning up.

It’s Dino and this is your answer:
First- Check phosphates and nitrates to assure theyre not elevated.
Here is full program:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15%) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

My first thought was bryopsis. Either way, agitate the zoas with a pipet so they close and dip in peroxide. No SPS for the peroxide dip.

10:1 peroxide and saltwater for 5 minutes is what I used. Do a search and check others suggestions. The plug I used it full strength and scrub with tooth brush and it worked.
