Is there any suggestions on getting chalices to grow at the best rate? I know they grow slow, and there is no miracle... but is there any special placement, feeding schedule, lighting or any suggestions at all to getting the fastest growth? Thank for any opinions ahead of time!

Thanks for the advice man, I got my first chalice frag last week. It's a 3 eye Bazooka Joe frag... it seems very healthy and very colorful, The only thing is... I can't seem to get any feeding tentacles out. Is there a trick to it at all? Does it take awhile for them to settle in before they will put them out?

I would agree, feed it, feed it and feed it a little more. This concept has worked for me over the years, I have grown a lot!

Try to not move them around too much and you should get better growth. Keep alk and mag stable.

+1 to above guy,i just kept trying like i said better at night tentacles will come out thats why i use the cyclops and phyto also will attract it to extend the tentcles and try to leave it in a place it looks happy once a chalice has adjusted to a good place it will grow for you.i use a small seringe or even a turkey baster but dont use one from kitchen drawwer buy a new one the old has oils from cooking

How do you truly tell if a chalice is happy? Mine looks very colorful, and fleshy... It looks great. But, still haven't seen tentacles... even at night.

Mine all put out their tentacles when I turn the pumps off. Or since you just have the one you could try removing it and placing it in a dish to feed it.

Wouldn't this stress it? What about maybe putting top half of a soda bottle over it so there will be no flow?

How do you feed chalices? I don't really see any feeding tentacles

You have to train them. They might not send out feeders at first but eventually they will. I like to turn the vortechs off and feed them on a frag rack so the other critters cant get to them. I had a watermellon chalice that never extended but after 3 months of direct feeding with the others it finally started to extend.
