be careful with vitamin C. It drops oxygen levels, do not overdose. I doses this stuff for zoas for months and never saw a difference before or after.

And avoid zero nutrients keeps them happy as well.

Aminos and Vitamins do help them to be healthy, but there are so many Aminos on the market ;-(

I haven't fed them or done anything special and I have gone from 8 heads to 30 heads in three months. Just out them at the bottom of the tank and let them do their thing.

I would appreciate an ICP of a tank where Zoa's are thriving ;-)
Just to see if trace elements are as important to Zoa as they are to many Acros!
Or maybe just a food issue that makes Zoa's tasking off, who knows..........

I gave a talk to the local reef club about growing Z&P incredibly fast even though my tank has NSW level N and P and Metal Halide. Since then, many people who have had Z&P melt after thriving for a while have arrested this with routine water changes to replace the trace elements. I believe that trace elements are more important with Z&P than they might be with acropora. I do not feed my corals.

Lol, that I do not doubt!!!
Just would like to know if there have been made observations where people started dosing Manganese, Iron, Cobalt or whatever and it had a really big positive influence on the Zoa's.

I personally had still issues until recently in my SPS dominated reef (4months old) with Zoa's. However the re-start of the Manganese and Iron supplementation does seem to help since Zoa's I had left are growing finally a bit better now.
I run good nutrients but not crazy high.

do you know which trace elements? ballpark? is it Boron, Chromium, Potassium?

I have no idea. I only know that BTAs and Z&P suffer a bit with months of no water changes... not all of them, but the trickier ones that tend to die back on people after periods of high growth.

I noticed mine are getting much brighter and larger and slowly growing new polpys my tank is about a month and a half old.

Every wednesday/Saturday I feed Red Sea Energy A/B 2.5mL let it sit for about 15min then I add Aquavetra Fuel 1 cap full then I spot feed 1/2 a tablespoon of reef roids mixed with tank water then every night I feed about 10ML of Ocean Magik late at night.

Of course everything is done with the Skimmer off

I target feed mine twice a month. As for flow- they like low to moderate in my tank and multiply fast.
