This is one of my pet peeves. Growth is great, colors are very good. But one thing that comes and goes in my tank is good P/E. My stylos and pocci's have mega P/E. I can't find a way to encourage it in my acro's which are mostly stags. Anything you guys did, with a notable improvement thereafter ?

My slimer and blue tip have from time to time. My hunch is organics too high or too low. But I'm not sure.

I find that great flow is critical to polyp extension. Pretty much the higher the flow, the better the extension.

I'd agree with DFW that stags generally don't have too much PE to begin with, though.

I've never really seen a stag with busy poylps kinda at night usually the tips have big poylps but manly at night you well see those just typical of stags

If there are particles in the water, will higher flow have a negative effect?

Do you have Angels?

In my experience, nipping fish have been the culprit. When the fish are sleeping the polyps come out. Mille's have usually had the best PE for me.

Try feeding the corals during the day for a few weeks along with regular night time feedings. Bacteria dosing helps as well. I have a couple different stags with great PE.
