How do I determine the wire gauge for a magnetic switch that I am going to connect to an Avast Marine Apex break out box. I purchased this magnetic switch from McMaster Carr. I need to extend the wire coming from the switches, about 6'.

Information on the wires (according to my daughter, I couldn't read it...)
awm style 100780c 300v vw-1 csa 150272 tr64 90c ft105 awm i a/b 105c 300v f11

I didn't see any gauge in there, but if it's just a break out box, 18 gauge should be more than plenty. By break out box I mean only to control wire, and not one that powers anything directly. I used 20 gauge for my Apex break out box. Solid wire is thicker than stranded, and I would recommend solid for this use. Just go to home depot and find wire that's the same general size.

Thank you.

That switch is rated for 2 amps. I would not use anything smaller than 20 gauge.
