Just tested and seeing 0 nitrate using Red Sea, and 0.04 phos with Hanna.

My tank has a yellow tang, 2 clowns, six line wrasse, and a lawnmower blenny.

I feed 2 times a day, have a skimmer, 2 media cup with filter floss, and a bag of carbon. I noticed nitrate decreasing over time so I lowered carbon in the bag.

Anything I can do to increase nitrate naturally without dosing?

reduce the number of hours you run your skimner, slack on changing filter floss, feed more

I’m approaching the same, did you find a solution?

Unless you are organic carbon dosing and can stop or reduce the dose, I do not see any method working nearly as cleanly and effectively as dosing sodium nitrate. It is cheap, easy, and effective.

Thanks Randy, I’m not familiar with the process so will research it. I appreciate the lead.

I tried feeding more, turned off skimmer to no use. I bought Brightwell Neonitro to dose and that got my nitrate up. I guess dosing is the only way really.

Borrow my fish, feed em 12 frozen cubes a day and it will rise naturally, then you find a way to lower it.;)
