I am trying to understand my local water report in order to improve RO unit. I am getting approx 80 gallons out of a fresh DI canister. That’s about two weeks for me. I have a booster pump en route, as I’ve read that will improve DI usage.. supposedly.

how do you read the report and identify issues. I’m hoping someone can tell me what to look for in report. attached link is the water report in question.

I am not well versed in reading those water reports but it seems weird to only get 80 gallons out of a DI. How type of pressure are you getting coming into the unit. Most units like in the 40-50 PSI range. Hopefully someone will chime in that has more knowledge of water reports.

Make sure you have best possible RO membrane so your tds is as low as possible before it hits the DI.

I live in Arizona where we start above 500 so even with a 95% percent reduction your still hitting it in the 50-90s

some people run a double RO membrane to lower it more I would find a way to save waste water then.

make sure you run a dual canister for you DI so you complete exhaust the first stage so you can get full use of your DI

I am useless at reading water reports, but 80 gallons per DI seems ridiculously low and the answer probably the same no matter what. Better and/or more frequently changed prefilters/carbon filters, flush ro frequently if not already. Replace ro if needed. I would start with testing TDS after the RO. If it is not very low at that point look into other things.

The booster pump may help some but mostly in efficiency and speed, but only if you have pressure below 50 or maybe 60. If your booster causes excess pressure(90+) then it is probably contributing to your problems.

It says they get the water from wells. Wells are known to have high carbon dioxide which will deplete the RO quickly. Here is an article that is a few years old.

Also you never give your tds numbers so that could be your issue. We need your tds at the tap and right after the ro membrane. That will tell us if your membrane is working correctly.

My water source was high in CO2 and I was getting less then 100 gallons thru my megamaxcap di. I built a degassing chamber to reduce the CO2. I am on a public utilities also that uses wells for a source.

If you have low pressure the booster pump will help with rejection rate and production rate.
