I have a ORA Ocellaris in my display tank, it was originally paired with a B/W clownfish, which died of a disease 3-4 years ago. Now I have a new B/W clown in my QT and it's ready to be moved in. They're both about the same size so I'm concerned they're both the same sex.

How should I introduce the B/W into the display tank?

I had good luck using breeder boxes to let the fish get used to each other before releasing them together. Took about 2 days before my female quit attacking the new addition. I you can catch the original and put it in the breeder box and let the new comer settle in first will help also.

Yes I think this is the best way as well.

Speaking of breeder boxes where do you all get yours?

I bought "beta boxes" from Walmart, $5. Dremel a couple slots for water flow and it's perfect. I use my mag float to hold them on the side if the tank, up against the trim so the top won't come off.

So i could just use a clear container with holes drilled in it and just place it next to where the original clown hosts?

This makes me think of having fish in bubble, imagine having all your fish in their own bubble in your aquarium, kind of funny to think about...

I found a large plastic jug to punch holes into that ending up being perfect for introducing the new clown fish.

My existing clownfish didn't even react, I'm not sure if it was because it couldn't see the new fish or if it just didn't mind.

I ended up leaving it that way for awhile, with still no reaction I decided to let the new clown out. They did this "dance" for awhile where the existing one would shake rapidly and the B/W would do this thing with it's jaws like it was rapidly chomping down. They never actually made any malicious attacks against one another, though.

I watched them for probably an hour before deciding they would be fine. This morning they were swimming together in the duncan colony (this is where the existing clown hosts).

I actually put my new clownfish in a 5 gallon bucket, took out the one in my DT and put him in the bucket and within an hour they were getting along great.
