So as soon as my QT was ready for fish this quarantine happened. I waited a few weeks before I spent any money on the tank so I didn't get any new fish right away. I can't work because of the quarantine is the why. But we were very fortunate and finances haven't been effected so last week I went to get a fish. Turns out, because of the quarantine, none of the fish I want are available. What's the best way to keep the tank up and running til this is all over? I have been dosing a small amount of ammonia once a week that is still processed in a day. Nitrates are at 25ppm. Phosphates 10ppm. How often should I do water changes? I was thinking of just replacing the water in the QT with water from my DT when I do those water changes. Will that work?

Personally that’s what I do. I take all the water for my QT from my display. I figure the water is at the right parameters. Plus I get away with a small water change on display. It’s much easier to acclimate the fish at the end of Qt. Been doing it like that for 8 years.
