How To Keep Anemones Away From Corals

I bought 1 anemone 4 years ago which has split into something like 25 over time. I really like having a bunch of them because they host my clowns, but they have a tendency to walk around and sting my corals. Is there anyway to separate them so that they don't move around so much? Maybe some kind of barrier that they don't like walking on, but doesn't look too out of place in a reef?

Not everyone. It's hard to get rid of them in my area

Nems are worse than cats when it comes to stepping on stuff you don't want them to step on... possibly more stubborn too.

Truth is, the best way to move them where you want them is provide the conditions they are looking for or moving towards in an area away from your corals, the biggest caveat to that is your corals want the same conditions the nems want. Good lighting, good flow, access to food.

There’s no controlling where a nem goes. BTA tend to walk more than other nems. When mine splits, the new half walks around so I just throw the split into my FO tank. Hint: take some glamour shots of them. Give them a fancy name and people will run to you for the splits! like Super sparkle rainbow bubble tip.

you can use a small powerhead to blow the tentacles away from corals, if possible.
or move the corals instead.

I think what I’m going to try is make an ‘anemone island’ with a gap between rock structures and have a powerhead blowing in between. I know this isn’t going to work 100%, but I’m hoping it will slow them down enough that I can grab them before making it to the coral side.

I spend most of my reefing money at Aquatic Collection but they won't take them. I usually bring them into Neptune or CA Reef (I've never heard of Infinity though). When I upgrade I'll probably trade in a few to bring the numbers down to a more reasonable number.

Infinity is also in SJ, north of the airport. There is also Clearwater in Saratoga area and Aqua Lab Aquaria in SJ.

Here's my tank with over 30 of them playing nice... most of the time.

There's a BTA mountain in the back left corner and a magnifica on the right.

Plan the position of the anemones island taking into account where the flow will take them if they take off. In my case I placed them right below a pump. I prefer that they meet the pump than landing where they shouldn't.

Wow! That's a lot of splits!! I've had good luck with putting the nem on a separate rock island (usually a medium sized rock with lots of crevices). Not sure it would work with that much frequent splitting though.
