have a red sea 250 aquarium, with a separate chamber for skimmer/fuge, but when I put in the chetomorpha, it only drifted towards the bubble trap and partly over to the return chamber. Adding a picture, in the first chamber, i have swapped out the filter cup with a fleeace roller. Chamber two is where i added the algee

I am pretty sure the first chamber after the socks is where the macroalgae is supposed to go, hence the guard

I use a rigid airline tube (acrylic) to haphazardly move it and sort of pin it in place. I just stick it through the mass and wedge it in place

My reefer 300. Very similar sump layout. Egg crate with some plastic mesh like used in some acrylic tops. Been running since February and I've never had a strand of chaeto in the return chamber. I had it where the skimmer was for a while but when I decided to add the skimmer I didn't feel like trying to pull the cup without dumping skimmate into the tank so I swapped them.
