I keep having trouble with m y corals falling off the rock I put them on I have used gel super glue and I have used a putty from instant ocean and they still fall off after a week or two. any tips on how to keep them from falling would be awesome.

I know a lot of us including myself use a nice gel/putty sandwich. So it goes Liverock>glue>putty>glue>coral. That is if you're talking about SPS. What kind of coral are you having issues with?

Make sure the area you are bonding is clean, bare rock. Take the rock out of the tank if possible and dry the area. At least dry the part of the coral/plug being glued. Wiggle it a little in place so the glue gets into the crevices of the rock.

Super glue bonds are only so strong. Urchins and crabs can break them if they so choose. The trick is getting the coral to encrust.

Just blob it on the buttom of the plug/frag and put it on the rock. Take a quick couple of dabs agaisnt the rock to make it "cure" and then set it in place.

I have had problems super gluing my corals to the rockwork too. For some reason I cant get anything to stick where I want it!

super glue

Try applying the super glue dipping it in that water, let the film form, and then re apply the super glue. Do that several times then try sticking it to your rock. A lot of times a spin where your putting the frag will also break the film and let it stick.

Try this. Take a toothbrush and scrub the rock area to remove loose debris. Put super glue gel blob on frag plug. Push and twist plug onto the cleaned rock area and slightly pull up to see if gel is sticking to the rock. If so, push it back down a hold for a few seconds. This method has helped me keep them in place even though some still get knocked off occasionally.

Something I read on garf really helped me out. She said to put superglue on your finger and smear it into the rock underwater where you are going to put the frag so it has a good base to attach. Doesn't have to be a huge area, just where you are putting the frag. Using your finger you can break the superglue skin and really get the glue to bond well to the rock in all the little nooks you can't see. Of course this wont work if the rock is really nasty, you should scrub with a toothbrush as someone pointed out, but smearing the spot to be glued really helped me out getting superglue to stick much better. You then just put a dab on the frag and join the glue spots.

What if the corral is on a branch already how do i keep it from coming off.

Can i put super glue straight on my Kenya tree then poke it in a hole or to attach to a frag mount
