Hello everyone.

Let me begin by saying that I do have some basic knowledge of how to keep corals. However, my primary corals are SPS I have a very few lps. I have a lot of light, in my tank, some places are around 250 par at the bottom of the 24" tank.

Up to this point I've had issues with mushrooms that just shrink bleach and whither away. I was not really into mushrooms, so I didn't buy anymore, I did however have success with a purple rhodactis. It is currently housed in my sump under a small kessil . The par on the surface of the water is about 56 on the top of the mushroom at max would be 30-40

Long story short, I went out and gotten a pretty cool shroom that I am trying to keep alive. However, I would like some advice as to how to properly care for mushrooms.

My question is what do mushrooms need? What should I watch out for ? Iodine, light, flow, food, phosphates, nitrates? Anything else I can't think of ?

Primarily what is the optimal par? Should I throw it into my low light sump or keep it in the display?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

keep measurable no3 and po4 and they will flourish. Your main tank has quite a bit more par than needed so I would start them under a ledge and keep the par less than 150. Most tend to try to slide away if you throw more par at them than that.

agreed, my mushrooms will try to get away from high lights so your mainly sps tank is probably way too high of a par for them. can you put it in a corner?
