How to kill medusa worms?

Ina e them on my barebottom they just kinda wedge under rocks. When I turn on the cleaning power heads (basically power heads that are off facing the bottom till cleaning time) they blow around and are sucked into the over flow and cleaned in the sock. Some of the Angels and six line eat them as they blow around.
No way! I haven't seen them in my BB tanks before but they litter the tanks with sand. Maybe I'll toss a few into the BB and let them help clean :)

Any halicheorus wrasse should take care of those promtly. Maybe even leopards. Don't buy into the OMG they will eat my CUC hype because at least IME thats the exception, not the norm.

That said, nothing to really worry about they could be considered part of your CUC I guess. I don't have any anymore because I have wrasses but I do still have them in my sump. You could also try coral banded shrimp which are said to eat bristle worms.
I have blue coral bandeds in the tank, peppermints and a bellus(that was me hoping she would do something LOL) I think I'm going to pick up a small yellow coris or a melanarus wrasse and see what happens. Six lines dont take care of it for me....

I'm no marine biologist, but I do believe that there is a distinction between the two. I've seen spaghetti worms and these are not them.
I myself had the medusa worms in my past tank and they are a major PIA. They find the smallest of holes and reproduce like no other. Personally, the only way I was able to rid them was a copperband butterly. I tried arrow crabs and numerous wrasses with no luck. The copperband got rid of the visible ones in a couple days, but weeks later they appeared again.
I reallyyyy want to avoid a copper band because they will eat zoas if given the opportunity

Ya that aren't a bad thing they just look.gross
I beg to differ, these irritate the **** out of my zoas

My copper band has never touched a Zoa and I have a boat load of zoas. Many people say they go for acans. I have a few acans in my tank, but I've lost a few acans that I'm a little suspicious about. The only thing I've actually seen my copperband attack, is a clam. But I never had good luck with clams prior to having the copper band.

These worms irritated my zoas as well

Send them to me! I have a great home for them :-) lol my dsb fuge could use a few more

I’m sorry I know this is an old thread but they’re definitely Medusa worms. Aka sea cucumber and stressing it out will result in its fish specif toxin being release resulting in almost immediate death of all your fish. I know this because I have them breeding in my system now and I’m trying to find a way to rid them from my reef tank.

The image the OP posted had these worms labeled as polychaetes, so they're not the poisonous sea cucumber type of medusa worm that you're thinking of.

Been thinking of a six line lately. Problem is most regret them because they beat up other fish.

Any idea how to get rid of Medusa Worms? I have an infestation of them in my tank and easily have over 100 in there.
