How to kill off invasive SPS

I have decided to turn my 125 into a soft coral tank to reduce my System’s total usage of elements but I do have quite a bit of encrusting SPS and things living in every nook and cranny of the tank so I can’t just break them off and trash them.
How would a guy go about killing them off once I removed most of it? I thought about just letting my alk and calcium bottom out but I’m sure that would also hurt the other critters and coraline algea

I'd just remove pieces as you see them. I don't think there's a way you could kill them without also harming your system. Maybe you could throw in a couple butterflyfish for a month or two before adding the softies.

There’s already a bunch of leather and zoa in there I don’t want them to eat

I would need a gallon of it lol we’re talkin monti that have covered a whole rock the size of a grapefruit lol and all my rock is epoxied haha

Maybe hit a section with hydrogen peroxide or similar to see if it can start an STN/RTN reaction?

Or just break the epoxy and sell the rocks

A method you could use is to mix a kalkwasser, baking soda or alk buffer slurry, turn off the flow, and slowly drizzle the slurry over the coral in small sections. After ten minutes, turn the flow back on and do a water change, sucking off the now dead flesh.

Jack your salinity down, 1.020 and then let it crank up over a day or two back to normal. That has been effective at killing my sps :'(

I heard some ppl use galaxea upside down placed on corals to keep them in check

Lol. Fight coral with coral. I see you brought a Monti to a Galaxea fight

I could probably do the exact same thing with boiling water lol never dawned on me till now haha

I have 3 tanks hooked together, I don’t want them in my dedicated SPS tank haha
