How to kill zoas in tank?

Any tips for killing some zoas in tank?
I have some covering all over my rock with sps. Is there a way to kill them without harming myself or the tank? This rock piece can’t be removed as it is the base.

Nope there is no easy way.

Remove rock and carefully recycle it in a way to avoid toxins.

How large is the tank and how large is the colony?

I was trying to find a way to kill hem without removing the rock. The rock is 6x8 and the tank is 90g. The whole rock is covered.

You can smother them by putting putty over them but it sounds like you got a long group of them. So you will have to remove rock and remove or trade in and get a new rock. Good luck

Depending on type of zoa, there's a few different things you can try, but it will affect the entire tank. The fact you are trying to get rid of them makes me believe they are probably a brown/green button paly. Is that correct? If it is then you will be limited with what you can do because they are relatively bullet proof. What other corals do you have in the tank? What fish are currently in there?

And if you do try and kill them in the tank without using a fish or something of that sort I wouldn't try to wipe them all out at one time personally. Could have some major swings in tank chemistry

If they are nice zoas why not just call in someone who knows how to frag them and have a fire sell on them then use the money to buy some corals you look like.

unless they're the ugly brown zoas you'd probably be able to sell for some store credit at LFS. Pick up a piece of nice live rock to replace what you're selling and salt for a month.

I need the room for my sps. It’s not brown zoas.

Definitely seeing some higher end zoas/palys. You absolutely can get quite a bit for what you are trying to kill. If you have a significant amount of corals in the tank then there will not be a great way to eradicate them in the tank without significantly harming other corals. Trading to a LFS would probably be a great option. Or take a hammer and pound the rock into frags and privately sell off the frags. You definitely have a few hundred dollars worth of zoas/palys there.
