how to kill zoas

what is the best way to kill off zoanthids? I have some running rampant in the tank

frag is a nice way, but kalking would be you best bet. not that i am for kalking them.

+1 to calc paste. That's what I use on these when they pop up in unwanted places... and they do!

Indeed Kalk paste will kill them, if they are not something you want or something you want to frag and give away. Just shoot it into their mouth like you would a aiptasia.

If there is too much i usually just take the rock out and let it dry out.

+1 on the Kalk paste. Works great to nuke pretty much anything.

I did the Kalk paste 3 times, and they came back to life after 3 weeks<>.

I use a good pair of tweezers and pull them off. If you put them in a cup with rock rumble they will attach to rock and you can give them away. You have to watch and pluck for the next couple weeks if any reappear. This doesn't kill the zoos just helps to relocate them. But you can throw them out if you want. This method helps keeping them from releasing any toxins into the water also.:squigglemouth:
