how to know if my anemone died?

im still new to saltwater and i recently got an anemone the last 2 days he way bubbled up and i would say happy today i got home after 14 hours of work (my lights arent on a timer yet) and he looked like this maybe to much light???

What kind of crab is that on top of the anemone?

Also how much light is on your tank and how many gallons is it?

anemone crab i dont know if it has a specific name. i have a t5 light and its a 40gal hex tank

Also I would remove the because it is proven anything with claws is not reef safe.So if I were you I would get rid of the crab because it probably was agitating the anemone with it's claws. What coral do you have I'n the tank currently?

the crab hasnt left the anemone ever my roommate also has the same crab but on a carpet anemone and it hasnt ever left it. the put out these fans and filter feed and we both have clown fish that use the same anemone and never a problem. im not sure on the watts ill have to look and see and i have a bunch of different corals mostly all soft. i have one piece of hard and its been in there almost a week and hasnt died so who knows. Smell it??? does it just smell awful if it died?? But...this just in my picasso was messing around with it and i flipped it over turned on the blue lights and its back to full bloom. So i guess it just got to much light?

That crab is a Porcelain crab and is reef safe. They are filter feeders and live with their host anemone. They never leave it. Your anemone is alive but just very stressed out. Make sure you're salinity(specific gravity) is 1.024-1.026. Also, hopefully you're light fixture has four bulbs in it. A two bulb fixture will not provide enough light to keep this anemone. You'll want to try to have the lights on for around 8-10 hours a day consistently as well. good luck. let me know if you need any help with anything else or if you have any other questions.

Lol, this is untrue. While it is true that most things with claws do not do well, porcelain (anemone) crabs are perfectly fine. The anemone looks ok to me, sometimes they will do what your picture shows. When an anemone dies, it turns into mush and smells freaking terrible.

Looks fine to me, may need a few days to acclimate to the home aquaria.
If it is flipped inside out with it's guts showing, I'd worry.
You shouldn't have much to worry about unless your parameters are far below perfect.

If its still there with flesh n everything its good worry wen they start melting turnign white that is wen its time to get rid of it
my nems do good i only run my metal hailides for about 2 3 hours vhos for about 6-7 blue leds 10 12 hrs everything still grows and lots of color

How old is this tank? Nems never look good in a begginers newer tank.
