How to know what magnets to use?

I want to make my own frag rack, want the strongest magnets possible for this since the rack will be going from front to back. Only thing is I don't know if all magnets are 'reef safe'. I've searched already and can't find much, so here's a new thread for anyone wondering the same thing
So what magnets are recommended?

Use rare earth magnets or ceramics and coat them in cyanoacrylate or putty.

Another idea I've been wanting to do, is take a adjustable tooling/machinist magnet and use it for the outside of the tank with a weaker magnet inside the tank. The magnet has a off/on switch and is used for holding parts down to machines haha... They are usually not cheap, but they are strong enough to hold a 10lb rock to your tank!

That sounds like it could break my poor little 40B haha!
I will have to look into those magnets thanks man!

Kinda thinking the nickel plated ones, but then of course covering them like Kraylen said, I meen they are cheap and super strong.

FWIW:
My eshopps frag rack uses magnets inside acrylic tub with acrylic top/bottom glued on.
Small diameter acrylic tube is pretty cheap, as is thin acrylic sheet and glue.

Be careful with those rubber covered ones...

rubber seal is not guaranteed waterproof

I made my own frag racks using neodymium magnets, casting resin and 2 part epoxy, and black eggcrate.

i got a rack from mfinn and a can put a rock full of zoas on it and it don't move at all they are strong and hold well jest don't stick them together

I've seen a couple different frag racks that used those little square magnets, glued inbetween the eggcrate squares.
Very neat and clean looking.

REUSABLE CABINET KNOB MOLDS, FLAT-ROUND

Pretty much everything can be bought from this website, except the magnets and eggcrate.

You can get the epoxy or polyester casting resin, dye, mixing cups, 1 oz.
measureing containers, mold release, mixing sticks here.
