Hi,

My Alk is 12. I want to lower it to 9. Doesn't want to be at upper side.

Any safe way to do that? I'm not in a hurry.

In my tank I have 3 muchrooms and 1 acan. Salinity is 1.025-1.026.

I waited to coralline algae consume alk, but it doesn't happen...

Thanks

hi, what size tank? cal level?

a couple water changes will slowly bring down, check mix for alk level, also check phosphate level, high will choke out coralline growth :)

If it does not drop by waiting, the best way is to do water changes with a low alk salt mix.

You can add acid, but that's tricky in a tank with organisms as the ph gets very low unless you go super slow.

So, I'll just buy a Red Sea Blue and mix it with Coral Pro 5:1.

Why Coral Pro have such a high alk?

Because some folks want high alk to spur hard coral growth. :)
