So, our Fluval M90 seems to be running the DT side really high and my clown is constantly splashing water over the side. Is there anyway to get the water level to drop?

Thanks,

If there is no restriction in the rear compartment, there may just be too much water in there.
It has 4 compartments. Only initial compartment has any thing In it. It has the media basket with foam sponge, poly filter, chemiclean blue, and the Bio matrix in the bottom. The 2 middle are essentially empty (one has heater in it. Of course, last is return.

You may need to get a DC pump and decrease the flow a bit to achieve a lower water level...
But I have to point out that it is an AIO and what you put in is where the water level will be... maybe just take some water out?
You're not dealing with a large volume of water in a sump and having to balance overflow with return, so just removing some water from the tank should do the trick.

If you can lower the pump speed, the only other option is to lower the holes/grates in the weir. You’d have to lower the water level (like a water change) and the use a dremel or file to extend the holes in the weir a little lower. If you do it, I would tape some plastic sheeting to either side to catch all the filings. An adjustable pump would obviously be the more ideal solution.

Post a picture of the rear if you can. He's saying you may have too much water in it as a whole. The return pump section should be the only compartment fluctuating in water level, if you fill it too much your display water height will rise.
