Hey how do you make Zoas thrive in terms of opening bigger better color and grow faster. Also what kind of Zoa is this? I also post in an zoa if thread for more answers.

Good parameters and time. :) One of these days they might start closing up. Don't stress about it. Give them a week and they will have more color. :)

Look for colorful zoas. There are a lot of dull colored zoas/palys that you can get cheap. The colorful ones will cost you more money. I have found that the majority of zoas are very strong.

Good water , flow and lighting. Placement can also be key as some like more light and flow than others

Turn around three times. Jump over your fish net. Sit down backwards and spell "fish" backward three times.

Then do everything people here recommended – even try spending more money.

Zoanthids have a mind of their own as far as I can tell.

In the middle of a tank full of happy stony corals, the zoanthids I had would come and go willy-nilly. Sometimes aggressively intruding on nearby stony corals! But in the end, after four or five years of this waning and waxing, literally fading out to nothing....gone. I didn't change much through the whole period so it was crazy to watch the variable behavior.

Stony corals are much easier to me.

Your mileage may vary. :)

Good flow u want to see their skirts moving gently. This has brought out more color in mine and even makes them perk up.

I have had good luck with Zoas multiplying like crazy when I don't use my skimmer. So my guess is that at my Zoas prefer water with more nutrients. But I also get more algae growth and my acros turn brown so I don't do that often.

Placing closer to the bottom and lots of blue light seems to do the trick for ms
