How to mix two part

I have dr fosters magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate I want to know how to mix them because I heard it’s not the same as the brs two part mix

5 cups magnesium chloride with 3 cups magnesium sulfate in 1 gallon of rodi water. Not sure how it can be different? Hopefully someone else can confirm

I would try to ask drsfostersmith what mixture they recommend. It would be nice if BRS gave the weights as well in their instructions, but understand why they list in volume.

5:3 by volume or by weight will be close enough. I designed the 5:3 volume recipe based on two particular materials (Epsom salt and Dead Sea Works magnesium chloride hexahydrate), but the exact ratio is not that important.

Folks should bear in mind this recipe is for use as part of a two/three part system.

It isn't the optimal ratio for dosing of magnesium in a system that is not using a two part:
