I've owned this clam for about 5 months and seen some decent growth (white layers on the end of the shell). However I bought my clam with a frag plug that it attached to, but one day the coral glue gave out and the clam fell on the sand. Overnight it stuck itself to the rock. I can clearly see the flesh connecting the rock. Is there a way to make the clam detach from the rock. Since this is a guaranteed death for the clam as its not even facing towards the light.

if your careful you can slide something underneath the filaments to get them to release. If they're buried in the rock, is there a way to move the rock to make it work?

You can cut the threads with a razor. Just make sure to wiggle the clam, but not pull on it, so it fully retracts then slide the razor under it slowly. Scary the 1st time but you get the hang of it. I have done it dozens of times - especially when removing to scrub for pyramid snails.

I agree with above, cut the filaments as close to the rock as possible the sharper the blade the better. If using a new blade remove all oils and residues before using. IMHO it's the least stressful way.

No, its wedged in this small crescent shape hole so the entire filament is visible, I will try my best.

If you can see the filament, this should be easy. Use a sharp scalpel. As long as you only cut the filament, you won't injure the clam.
