Anyone have any good tips on how to move a 30 gal tank I'm getting new rugs put in and need to move my tank temporarily for the guys to install new rugs any suggestions would help

Drain out as much water as you can. Bribe a friend to help move it. Add water back.

If you can slide the stand that's easiest. Otherwise you way want to also remove rock from the tank before moving it

Drain it down far enough to move it. Just keep your water in buckets while the rig is put down and move it right back.

Once I drained my tank down, I put furniture sliders under the stand and it slid pretty "easy". A 55g tank, even with 50-60% of the water removed is still pretty heavy, it turns out... :)

Yea that's what I was thinking draining some water out and putting the sliders under my stand and pushing it I'm expecting the weight to still be up there nothing is easy in this hobby not even moving a tank lol

Yeah, worst part was lifting the stand to put the movers under there. I had to do it by myself, and even lifting half the tank was very, very heavy.

once you drain out the water, put some heavy duty wheels on your stand and decorative wood around it. That when when you take out the rugs and put tile or wood floor down, you'll be better off moving it out of the way.

Personally, I'm not a fan of wheels. It's not so bad on a 30 gallon tank, but having all of the weight of the tank on about 4 square inches of surface (where the wheels are touching) seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

I have laminate floors and has carpet upside down under my old 30g. Let me slide it out when need

Yea I'm not a can of the wheels myself even though it sounds like a great thing to have but I wouldn't trust it . And with my stand the innovative marine stand for my tank I don't like the construction of how it sits on the floor as they use four little feet to hold the weight of everything just don't make me feel comfortable anyway they should of made it with a flat base
