Alright so the title seems pretty stupid and this may seem obvious and some may say just lift it or recement it. Well these rock piles are 100+ lbs and very awkwardly shaped. I started to build this outside of my tank then realized I had a problem. How am I going to get this into my tank....? I plan on building the stand 2.5-3 ft tall and the tank is 2.5ft tall. So the top will be close to 5-5.5ft tall. So I gotta lift up 100+ lb rock structured 5 ft up and into my tank without dropping it or breaking it. Any suggestions? Maybe Home Depot or Lowe’s sells something that I can use that lifts it up? Really not sure of anything I can think of. Here’s some pics of what I gotta work with. Also if I grab these pieces by the ends they most likely will nap off. They are being healed together by cement and fiberglass rods. But I don’t think I’ll stand a chance of lifting from the side. I’ll have to lift from the center.

Do you have any reefing friends or friends that can pick it up and hand it to you while your on a ladder. Make sure to put wood over aquarium so you can set it down on top of tank then ask friend to help you lower it down on to the bottom.

I am going to have people help me move the tank. That could be an idea but it’s just so heavy to lift that high. I think what I might do is put the tank on the ground, put the rock into the tank then lift the tank up onto the stand. Hopefully I’ll have enough muscle to lift up an extra 200 lbs on top of the 400 lb tank. I don’t know what else to do. What do you mean use wood?

That would be a horrible idea if a rock falls into the front of the tank. Picking up a hundred lbs in not that much when multiple people are there. That structure does not look that heavy.

Maybe your right. I was just gonna put foam on the glass so if it moved it wouldn’t do any damage. Maybe if I get inside the tank while I have a few help me move it into the tank it’ll work.

Once you start you will see it will be easy a buddy and I lifted a 150lb 2ft wide by 2 1/2ft long 12in high rock into a 5ft tank it's not as hard as you think.
