How to nip cyano I in the butt?

Using Zeovit for about 6-8 months tank is 3 years old never seen red cyano in the tank before. Only about 3-4 patches. How do I get rid of it before it over takes the tank. I just got rid of green hair algae 3-4 months ago.

Keep your nitrates up comes to mind, and find a way not to carbon dose.

To me (Full Blown) Zeovit treads on too much of a fine line, but that's JMO...

to fix the cyano, take out your sandbed and clean it to where it doesn't cloud when disturbed, then the cyano w go away usually in one pass.
