How to plumb bottom-drilled tank

So I just picked up this 75g tank and this is my first tank that is drilled on the bottom. Obviously this will make plumbing a cinch as it's a straight shot in to the sump. I was thinking about doing PVC for a clean look then realized... Couldn't I just get some vinyl tubing and attach to the barb and secure with a hose clamp? Otherwise how would I attach PVC pipe to that fitting? And what about the return?

If yoy wanted to hard plumb it, you would need to replace the bulk heads with slip.

Return same, either way it will be fine, just preferences

Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I guess I'll just do vinyl tubing considering it's a straight shot from the overflow in to the filter sock. PVC seems like it would be overkill for that haha.

The benefit to the hard plumbing is that, since it is opaque, it doesn't allow algae growth in the plumbing. With the clear vinyl, algae will tend to grow.

True but my LFS has black vinyl tubing for ponds.

The only reason I would want to use vinyl tubing would be if you feel that you would need the flexability to move the sump or something.
I prefer hard plumbed tanks and would probably replace the bulkheads with threaded bulkheads instead of the barbed ones.
