How to QT snails and other inverts?

Hi all,

i wonder how to QT clean up crew. I know inverts are sensitive for any dips and chemical treatments.

So, question is, how to be sure I will not add into new system some parasites or majanos (i saw personally aiptasia on snail shell) etc...

unfortunately not many people QT snails. I dont. but the proper way to do it is the same as coral. Have them in a QT tank that hasnt had copper in it. flr like 76 days without fish. thats the only true way..

Thank you for reply Michael. But anyway, is there any treatment which can be used on snails to be sure they are clean? Some dip for inverts. I think just wait and observe doesnt give you confidence they are 100% clean

nope u can inspect every one with a high powered magnified glass and use a tooth brush i suppose but really the only way that i know of is a fishless system for 76 days so if they do carry ick or some short... it will die...

I QT my inverts with my QT corals. In my QT I have some permanent residents like an emerald crab and peppermint shrimp to hit bubble algae and aiptasia. I also use QT tank water to do 3 rinses on all my incoming inverts. Then when their time is up they get another 2 rinses with DT water and 30 mins in a container with DT water prior to going in to the DT. All rinse water gets flushed. I might be a bit obsessive. But I try to follow best practices and read what ever @Humblefish puts out. Read this Coral/Invert Quarantine Time Frames

Or follow the post above mine, but wont taste as good
