How to quarantine a diamond goby?

I have a isolation tank for new fish, but it does not have any substrate.
I usually place new fish in the isolation tank for a month, if no disease, I move it to the display tank.
But what do I do with a diamond goby? The isolation tank do not have substrate.
Please advise. thanks.

Put a bowl of sand in the isolation tank.

I just did this with a small bowl of sand to keep him busy. I've also done a diamond goby qt with a bare bottom. Both did just fine

I had 2 diamond gobys jump during quarantine... third was the trick.

1. Container of sand to keep him busy.
2. PVC tubes... mine took all the sand and covered his pvc tube and came out to eat and then back in his tube.
3. Don't fill tank to the top... keep it about 3-4" from top to make it harder to jump.
4. Egg crate cover with a net attached underneath...i had 2 jump through the egg crate squares alone.

I have a short divider in my qt tanks. It is about 2" tall and blocks off about 5" of space. I can fill that with sand for sand loving critters

Don't forget to tell it to stay at least 6 feet from other fishies.

Like others have said, keep a bowl of sand in the qt and definitely buy a cover. BRS sells a really good DIY cover. Its nice and easy to make and wont get all dirty like a glass top does
