How to quiet my sump down

I have a 60 display with shadow over flow it is fairly quiet. It is where the water goes into the sump a combination of air bubbles escaping and then it goes up over to the fillter socks. Most of the sound is the water dropping in the fillter socks. I would like to remove them but the noise is much worse with them out. Does anyone have any ideas?

I keep a fleece pad or a carbon bag to slow down the water and rid the toilet noise.

Reducing the amount of pipe below the water line at the inlets will let the siphon line purge the air better, and quiet the bubble noise. Assuming this is a 3-drain (siphon, auxiliary and emergency) there shouldn't be bubbles at all in the inlet.
Raising the overall water level by an inch or two should quiet down the splashing in the socks.

Water level in the sock area is too low. I'd add a flow over baffle wall an inch or so from the outside of the existing wall, a half inch or so lower than the top of the sock opening. Water level would raise to the top of the socks, waterfall noise should be all gone.

That’s what I was thinking but I still get bubbles. Raising the water does little to nothing unless I raise it to the top and can’t do that.
