It doesn't matter how much I dose I cannot get the alk over 8.5. It seems like if I dose anymore my ph might get too high. Any suggestion you guys have or know what my be wrong?

Dosing 100 ml each two part b ionic
Also dosing stronium, iodide, trace elements, potisuim, mag
Running gfo (rowa phos) and carbon (tlf)
Chemi pure elite and purigen

It's a 90 gallon with a sump
180 lbs of live rock and 150 lbs of live sand

PH 8.5
Alk 8.5
Cal 430
Mag 1400
Nitrates 0
Phos 0

Why do you want alk above 8.5? Coupled with 430 ca, thats just fine for calcification. If you insist, add 1-3 teaspoons of pure baking soda over the course of 1-2 days. That will lower your ph and raise you're alk a bit.

Thanks for the info! It's a SPS dominated tank and every body I talked to say the optimum level should be between 10 - 12?

First off welcome to R2R!

I agree any reading over 8.0DKH is nothing to worry about unless it gets crazy high like 13-14DKH. I say if your corals are growing nicely then it isn't broke so don't try to fix it.
