How to raise ph?

I discuss pH issues and ways to raise it here:

The pH is going to fluctuate over the course of the day. Mine for example goes from about 8.25 - 8.38 or so daily. If it weren't for my chaeto in the fuge it would vary more as the the chaeto runs opposite of the tank. Couple things that can vary this number:
1. If you open a window it does make a big difference. I've actually had it get to nearly 8.5 and worried that's a little high when the weather is nice. I'm in Texas though so summer time windows are closed and the Ph is still on target.
2. The occupants in your house, including animals, will change the CO2 dynamics. If the CO2 is that high you can either run outside air from an air hose to the skimmer or a scrubber. The scrubber is going to be an expensive option though.
3. Not sure how old the tank is but as the coral find their stride and grow they will consume more CO2 thereby self-managing the pH. (pH goes up when the dissolved CO2 goes down)
4. Like somebody said in the posts, try not to chase numbers. You may well be just fine where you are.
4. just worried with ph being 7.8 adding new fish this may cause them to be stressed? I read somewhere low ph can cause this?
