How to read hanna copper tester

I've been dosing copper for 7 days now and this morning my Achilles tang has a lot of ick. Can someone please tell me what the hanna copper tester should read digitally. Ive been reading .47 on the display screen. Is this to low???

Sounds like you’re reading it right. It’s pretty fool proof. If I recall correctly therapeutic dose is .5 for cupramine, however I use copper power, so no personal experience. Not sure if that number may need to be slightly increased due to the recent findings regarding velvet surviving current therapeutic dosage.

I’m sure someone more familiar with cupramine will chime in shortly.

Keep in mind that the white spots are from where the parasites have dropped off to begin the cycle again. Copper only kills the parasites that are in the "free swimming" part of their life cycle. So the fish has to weather the parasites that were already attached. So you should see the number of white spots decreasing over the coming days.

Is the tang still eating? How is its breathing rate?
