How to reduce nitrates in biocube 32?

I know one method is a large water change and another method is to have a macro algae refuge like the intake insert but are there any other options?

it seems the chemical options require a skimmer.

There is carbon dosing but I would strongly recommend a skimmer .

another option is dosing nitrifying bacteria . But in the end. Large water changes will still be required no matter what

Sulphur reactors work great .
There is a diy gadget you can make .
essentially water trickling over plastic mesh that is lit with any bulb. .
Algae grows on the mesh and when harvested you’re taking the nutrients with it

I'm gathering you dont run a skimmer? Might be the best first step. The pH boost alone is worth it. Pulling out waste is an added benefit haha

Which alone could reduce nutrients , the organics removed don’t have time to stay in the system making nutrients

How high is high? There are thriving tanks with no3 significantly higher than 15.
I would recommend analysis of what your numbers are vs. what you want them to be before choosing a strategy
