I have a fist sized barnacle rock covered in Clavularia that has gotten out of hand. I'd like to grow something else there. How best to remove the coral?

What type do you have? If they are the blue kind, good luck. If they are the pink kind, maybe you could peel the runners up from the rock and remove the network of stolons as you go?
oh yeah i have the pink kind and they are so slimy and gross! when i try to rip a chunk off it just slides out of my hands. maybe pliers could work? and lots of patience lolFortunately it is the pink kind. I just want to make sure I leave nothing behind, that stuff grew way faster than I anticipated lol! Part of the difficulty is that it seems to turn to slimy snot when it gets irritated. Mistakes were made.
