How to remove cloves from zoa colony?

Got these brown clove polyps in my zoa colony irritating it. Whats the best way to remove them?

If you can, take the colony out and put it in a bowl of saltwater. Get some tweezers and/or an exacto knife and carefully remove what you can. You might not get all of them the first try, but if you stick with it you should be able to eradicate them. I did... GL.
