How to remove hair algae from pencil urchin

Like title says, I have a recently acquired pencil urchin and he’s completely covered in hair algae. Any trick to get it off or do I just need to go crazy with some tweezers?

Tweezers, and maybe put a few small snails on him afterward to eat the shortened stuff.
