How to remove hardwater?

what would be the best way to remove this from the tank? I have tried CLR, Bar Keepers Friend, and tried scraping it with a flat razor some has come off but it seems to be almost glued on there.

Mix some water and vinegar. Lay the tank on it's side so that the pane in the image is flat facing up. Pour the vinegar water on it and let it soak for an hour or more. It'll scrape right off with a razor blade.

Not to be negative, but sometimes this hard water hazing is actually etched into the glass and can't be removed chemically, or by any other means than polishing it out. You will soon know what you are dealing with depending on how it responds to the vinegar wash and single edge razor work.

Muriatic acid from Lowes or Home Depot will dissolve it. Wear gloves, it can burn you. Mix a cup in a gallon of water. Add the water first. Tip the tank and prop it on something like a 2x4 or PVC pipe and let it sit for 1/2 an hour.

I use it now to clean pumps and tank things all the time.

When it is this bad I often leave the tank on my back porch and fill it with fresh water mixed with a couple gallons of muriatic acid. Then I let it sit for a while. While it can burn you I used to dab a sponge in pure muratic acid and use it to scrub dirty skimmers with my bare hands. It gets them really clean. Now I'm no longer a teenager and have learned that gloves are a good thing.
