How to remove internal filter box?

Before I start my project, was wondering if anyone has any tips on removing an internal overflow/filter box in my IM 25 lagoon. I’m removing it to get more space and run filtration in a sump. Other than going at snail pace, anything in particular that will help remove the silicone and not scratch the glass?

I used one of these to do something similar. Just go slow.
Dont worry about getting all the silicone off at first. Just get the baffle out and then you can scrape the rest off with a utility blade

ya, that's what I had in mind. Just wondering if it is better with a blade or a plastic piece etc.
