I'm trying to get my overflow off my tank to move it down a bit. The problem is, I can't seem to get anything between the box and the glass to scrape the silicone. The thinnest things I've tried are a glass scraper and an exacto knife. I even hit the end of the glass scraper a few times with a hammer to get it in with no luck. Is there anything else I can do to get it off without ruining the box?

Dental floss and fishing line works as well but not as strong as the above, cheese cutting wire as well

Curious, is this on an acrylic tank? If its solivent welded, good luck with out cutting it off, better bet if that's the case would be to dremel deeper teeth on the overflow to lower the water level.

It's a glass tank and silicone keeping the overflow on.

Dental Floss for the win! It took only three strands of floss breaking before getting it off. It's surprising strong. The box is safely off and minty fresh. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
