Okay long story short i broke my thermometer in my reef tank the only thing that fell in the tank were the beads. Now i used a magnet to get the beads out I vacuumed the sand bed and did a water change. It still seems their are beads in the tank because the corals seem pisst on the side where it broke ive used prime for now my question is can i use this to remove rust or metal ?

What kind of thermometer? Did it have mercury in it that got released into the water?

Was it a shielded magnet? Not that the magnet releases anything into the water as well. Problem is if you didn't get all the beads, they're going to rust away, this can leech stuff into the water over a long period of time. Another user @saltyfilmfolks Was having a similar issue where he had elivated levels, and eventually it turned out that a razor blade found it's way into his system and rusted.

Fwiw, iron isn't a big deal in lower concentrations, nothing is really, it's some of the other stuff that may be an issue like tim
