How to remove unwanted palys

I have hundreds of green palys all over a large peice of live rock. Id like to resuse the rock in another tank but dont want the palys. Can i just leave this rock outside or somthing to kill of the palys?

I would not leave it outside, would kill all beneficial bacteria. I would only do that if you plan on cycling that rock again. The scraping away method isn’t always 100% effective either.
