How to repaint a 220g stand

I have a 3 year old cherry wood stand that I'd like to repaint to white. How hard would it be and what paint would you use?

Spraying is not an option so can I just use a roller and foam brush?

I’ve had issues painting over wood that’s been exposed to salt.... Kilz might help as a 1st coat and definitely hit it with maybe 180 - 220 grit
I’ve. heard boat stores are the place. to go for paint
