How to replace top plastic frame for glass on a 75gal!

I wonder if anyone ever did that with a Marineland 75gal.
It's a 1/4" thick and measures 48" X 18" X 21" (H).
I've been searching online and didn't find anything about the 75gal. with 1/4" thick glasses.
I've built many tanks for more than 30 years, but this tank has thin glasses compared to the ones I've built.
I guess I could easily remove the central plastic brace and place a 6" or 8" wide (1/4 thick ?) glass on the center, but I would prefer to remove the whole top plastic brace and build an Euro bracing when it's time to move the tank...
Would that be safe?
How thick and wide would the glass for the Euro bracing be?

I would like to glue them similar to the video below, but the one on the video is actually 3/8" thick.
I would place another glass under the long ones on the sides.

Hi reefwiser, I actually want to replace the plastic with glass. Made a mistake on title.
Another way to do it would be to cut the center plastic and just put a 6" or 8" wide glass there as I've mentioned before.
I would also put 2" wide glasses on the sides.
Wonder how thick could those glasses be. They made the tank with 1/4" glasses.

Euro bracing is very strong. Not an expert by any means, but I cannot imagine a 1/4" thick by 2" brace would not be adequate over a 4 foot span.
