I pulled out 3 pieces of pukani live rock out of my Display Tank 1 year ago. The rocks have been sitting around in an old tank. I want to break them up into smaller pieces and add back into my Display tank. Do I need to cure the rocks first / Again? The Display tank has 70 pounds of LR and I will be adding back in approx 10 pounds? Is this enough to cause a cycle?

When you say sitting around in an old tank, what do you mean exactly by this?

If they aren't dirty or covered in dead algae/organic matter, I would probably go ahead and add them, especially if they have already been in a tank before and most likely leached all of their phosphates if they held any.

Can you post a picture of what they look like now? That may help others form a better opinion of the situation.

If you let it dry out, I would suggest curing it for a few weeks. If you left it in saltwater, I would add it to clean, heated SW for a week or so with a source of ammonia to make sure the bacteria is nice and healthy again. Then add it to the DT.
