How to rinse a starfish?*

Does anyone know how to rinse a starfish with DT water? Should I acclimate then use the water that its acclimated to or use different DT water?

IMO , acclimated it over about 20_30 min buy roughly doubling the bag water.
Rinse in that , dump some out , add more DT water. Rinse.
Repeat if needed.

Should I literally hold the starfish and gently shake it in the DT water, is that rinsing it?

By rinse , I assume the Star has detritus ore something?
If so, yea, open palm , gently sway and swish water.
