How to run the innovative marine reactor?

Hey guys, trying to run the aqua gadget reactor, with carbon in it. When I turn it on, all the carbon gets pushed to the top, against the sponge. Doesn't tumble. What am I doing wrong?

Sandwich the GAC between two of the 4 supplied sponges.
The below video is for the mini but shows how they recommend it be done.

Did that, watched that video. Can't adjust it like that do in the video, the pump sits on the bottom, and the reactor right on top. I'll mess with it, try and dial it in. Also trying to get my ghost skimmer dialed in. It's either all or nothing with that thing, flows over filling the cup within a day, or not at all. Frustrating.

They BRS units run the GAC sandwich at the top of the react so as to not grind it to a pulp. Can you try it that way?

There is a slider on the side of the pump to adjust the pump volume. Sponge bottom GAC sponge top

Okay, would I adjust the pump to decrease the flow?
