How to safely move a rock anemone

hi all and Happy New Years:
I have a rock anemone that I have had for two months. Placed him in the tank, he slipped out of my hand when I was about two inches from the rock. He was fine the rock where he is at is close to the sand. He hasn't moved. My problem is for some reason Im getting drifting sand and it going on top of him. I blow it away and tried blocking the sand but it's not working I don't care about the sand it's easy to move but I would like to move the anemone. How can I move him safely without damaging his foot

I've found the easiest way is to get a small powerhead (I use a cobalt mj1200) and point it at the foot. Usually they'll release after several minutes. It sounds like yours may have attached to the glass on the bottom. If that's the case you would just move most of the sand from around him to prevent causing a sand storm. I had 3 do that in a tank that I was breaking down.

No he's on rock and as I was taking my shower I realized way the sand was blowing. I moved my return nozzles down a bit so the water is striking the glass in the front) and going down and moving the sand
