I have a couple different kinds of mushrooms attached to a clay tray like the one pictured, I want to remove them and add them to my display tank, can I remove them with a razor blade and cutting as close to the bottom as possible? Or how do you safely remove them? Thanks guys never removed mushrooms from anything

Razor will work on a smooth surface like that. It's really hard to hurt a mushroom. If there is any residue left on the clay afterwards a new mushroom will usually grow there

The bigger issue is once you have them off how are you going to place them? They will need to reattach on their own if you scrape them off. If you glue small tiles next to them and then put a powerhead upstream with some flow on them, they will move away from the current and into your tiles. This could take 1-2 weeks but at least you have something to glue down. Or you scrape them and put them in a rubble box and allow them to attach to a piece of rock you can glue.

The other option is to somehow break or cut the clay plate. Then gluedown the shroom and plate pieces.

Hey thanks Kenny, I’m pretty sure I’ve bought coral from you before, Tacoma? Good to see you on here, thanks for the advice
